- The League: shall be known as the Kent Super league and the boundaries will be left to the discretion of the committee.
- The League: will be formed at the AGM and all members and new clubs applying must send one representative or register an apology with the Super league Secretary. New teams will be entered into the lower tier of the Divisions.
- The League: shall be governed by a Committee elected at the AGM. Should any member resign during the term of office (he/she) will be replaced at the discretion of the Committee.
- Fees: All Teams competing in the league shall pay a non-refundable fee of £125 for the men and £60 for the Ladies.
- Registration Forms: The Team Registration form must be filled in correctly. Delegates are required to clearly display the Team Name; Team Venue must include the address and Pub/Club contact number. Team Secretary are to include their personal contact telephone numbers and a valid email address. The email address is vital as that will be the main source of communication between the League Secretary and all other Team delegates.
- Players registration forms must be clearly recorded showing forename and surname (not Nickname) along with the respective players’ signature and countersigned by the team secretary.
- League Calendar: All matches shall be played as per the posted fixture list. In the event of a change of date, both teams must agree and consult with the League Secretary (Currently Jim Walker on the following number 07711607722). Ladies should contact (Currently Yvonne McCarthy on 07740046926).
- Match days: All Men’s league matches will be played on a Wednesday evening, whereas all Ladies matches are to be played on a Tuesday evening.
- Venue: All venues are subject to checks as to the suitability to support and sustain Super league darts matches. Those venue checks will be conducted prior to the commencement of the league and or at any time during the league season by members of the committee. Checks by the committee will include, although not limited to the following: Dartboard quality, Oche dimensions, lighting, practice area and suitability for spectator seating etc. The committee decision on venue suitability will be final.
- The Competition Throw/Match Dartboard: Must be a treble board of good quality, secured and fixed at a height of 5’8” (1.73 m) from floor to centre of the bull and 7’9 ¼ “(2.37 m) from the face of the dartboard measured horizontally. The diagonal distance from the bulls’ eye to the front leading edge of the toe line (oche) must be 9’7 3/8” (2.93 m). The board must be well illuminated with adequate lighting so as not to cast any unnecessary shadows. There is no restriction on the type of lighting to be used so long as it provides players with good sight of all board markings.
Throw: Players must throw from behind a raised toe line referred to as an (Oche). A chalk line, rubber mat etc are not acceptable as an Oche’.
A Raised Oche’ as a minimum, must be of solid construction, securely fixed and at a minimum height of 2” (5cm), a minimum width of 20” (50cm).
Players who are observed to have thrown with their foot on top of or in front of the Oche will have their score recorded as (0). - Practice Dartboards: Home venues must provide at least one, ideally two separate practice dartboards of similar quality to the competition board for players to practice prior to their respective matches. Those boards and oche must match the dimensions described as per the competition match dartboard.
- Team format: Men’s format is 8 a side and the Ladies’ is 4 a side.
- Players: The names of all players must be notified to the League Secretary who will maintain a record of that player’s registration into the League and the team that they represent. Players may only sign and play for one team within the Kent Super League. The transfers of players between teams is not permitted once that player has played a game for their registered team. You Sign, You play, You Stay.
- Outside County Players: A team may sign any number of players who have aspired to County level from outside of Kent. The caveat being that a team may only play 4 ‘Outside County Players’ within the men’s league in any one game, this is restricted to 2 within the ladies league.
- New signings: Any new player who wishes to play for a team may do so on the night provided; they have not played in the Kent Super league for another team within that season. A registration form and signature must be obtained before the start of play. All new players are subject to a registration fee of £20 which is payable within 6 days of signing. The League Secretary must be informed when posting results for the game in question in order that personal records may be updated. The committee have the power to accept or reject a player’s application to join the league. Failure to pay the £20 registration fee will incur a minimum of a 1-point deduction for each game that the player plays until the League registration fee is paid.
- Match Format:
Men’s format is 8 singles matches 501 best of 7 legs per set, a point awarded for each set won plus a bonus point for the winning team, no bonus for a draw. Ladies format is 2 pairs matches 601 best of 3 legs per set and then 4 singles matches 501 best of 5 legs per set, a point awarded for each set won plus a bonus point for the winning team, no bonus for a draw. - Match Start Time: Men’s matches must start by 8.30 p.m. and Ladies matches must start at 8.15 p.m. Earlier start times are permitted by mutual consent of both teams.
- Recording of Players Names: Both the Home and Away team Captains/Secretaries must present their written player names in their chosen playing order (numbered 1 to 8) for men (1 to 4) for ladies by 8.15 p.m. The respective team’s player order will then be entered into the Darts for Windows platform. Once that list has been handed in no further changes are permitted and the matches will be played in the order presented.
- Match Delays: There is to be no unnecessary delays between the playing transition of games other than by the mutual consent of both teams or for reasons of changing scorers, recording team/player data onto laptops, turning of the board or comfort breaks.
- Order of Play: For the Men’s League the Away team throws first then alternatively through the Singles. For the Ladies League the away team throws first in the Pairs and alternatively all the way through including the singles.
- Minimum Team numbers: The minimum number a team may play is 5 for the Men’s Division and 3 for the Ladies. In these circumstances, the team with the most players are permitted to choose who will play and who will receive a bye. The team who wishes to play short will lose the points which are not played, the player who is awarded the bye will receive his/her running league average and be awarded 6 tons onto his/her tons average score.
In the Ladies league if a team turns up short, they will lose that singles point. In the Pairs match a player may play on their own but will miss a turn in the game. - Notice of Cancellation: It is accepted that there may be unforeseen circumstance i.e. inclement weather, illness, Team shortages, power cuts and or any other issues surrounding venues etc. In consequence, teams must in the first instance, consult with the League Secretary of their intention to cancel/postpone and provide reasons for doing so. The League Secretary will decide as to whether the game is to be postponed or played. In the event of postponement, as much notice as possible is to be provided to the opposing team Secretary.
The League Secretary will incorporate several Free weeks into the fixtures to allow all games to be played in these circumstances.
In extreme cases, and only if absolutely necessary, the league may be extended until all games are completed.
There will be no maximum point walkovers in the league and if a team fails to complete their fixtures, then all of their matches may be removed, all decisions in this regard will be made by the League appointed committee. - Team Withdrawal: Should a team withdraw from the league during any of the three stages of the League then only those points won/lost in completed whole stages will count and all others removed. The Team and those associated registered Team players will be removed from all elements of Kent Superleague competitions for the remainder of that season. Players will not be permitted to Transfer to another team within the Kent Superleague.
- Record of Matches: The home team are responsible for ensuring the correct scores are recorded for the match played on the Darts for Windows Scoring platform. The home team has direct responsibility for informing the League Secretary of the match result. The match result must be electronically sent to the League Secretary by email as soon as possible and in any case before 9am on the day following the match *(9am Wednesday for Ladies and 9am Thursday for Men’s Division’s). Late match results will result in points being deducted.
- Scoring: The Home team has direct responsibility for recording matches, the Darts for Windows (DfW) platforms is to be used to record all match data. The visiting (Away) team is to provide a score Caller. The ‘Caller’ acts as game referee when engaged in calling scores. Players must wait for the referee to call the scores before removing their darts. Darts removed from the board before the Referee has called the players score will be regarded as no score.
It is advisable, although not essential for the Away team to have a backup DfW platform working in tandem with the Home team. - Score: Only darts points in contact with the board may be counted. If a score is disputed the Referees (Callers) word is deemed to be final. Players may ask any person what they have left; they must not be told of the combination required in how to obtain that score other than by their respective playing partner. The Referee has the right to void the game should any person shout out advice to the player who is connected to the game.
- Complaints: All complaints arising from a match must be lodged with the league Secretary/Chairperson in writing and within 24 hours after the match. This is to provide an auditable trail of complaints; any decision by the committee will be final.
- Age restriction: No dart player under the age of 10 can play in the Kent Darts Super League. (Any player under the age of 16 must get permission from the opposition’s landlord before playing at the venue).
- Trophies: All trophies remain the property of the League. Teams who win trophies accept responsibility for their safe keeping. THE FULL COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT WILL BE ASKED FOR IF ANY TROPHIES ARE LOST OR DAMAGED.
